Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult

Picoult's Nineteen Minutes (Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult (Paperback - Feb. 5, 2008))

'Sterling is a small, ordinary New Hampshire town where nothing ever happens - until a student enters the local high school with an arsenal of guns and starts shooting, changing the lives of everyone inside out.

The daughter of the judge sitting on the case should be the state's best witness - but with her boyfriend dead and her childhood friend charged with murder, she's struggling to remember what happened in front of her own eyes...'

First of all, I have to say that I absolutely love the style of writing Jodi Picoult uses throughout her novels.  It is like she is speaking directly to you about a story that has touched her and moved her so much that she has to write about it.  I have not yet found a book written by her that hasn't left me with so many questions in my head, mainly about society today.

I liked this story very much.  It is certainly not the kind of story that will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside but it definitely opened my eyes to what does really go on in our world and certainly made me feel lucky for all what I have.

This is one of my favorite Jodi Picoult books. Also liked Salem Falls very much which I see you also read. Thanks for the friend invite on Goodreads! That's how I found your blog. I just started a book blog too: "Grab A Book From Our Stack" at http://ourstack.blogspot.com and added you to my blogroll. I look forward to becoming a blogging buddy with you and discussing our books.
